He is here!

Watson Loren Ruettinger

made his grand entrance into this world on May 11th, 2017 at 9:29pm. I won't go into details about how he came into the world because let's be real it is a sacred privilege to be able to bring a child into the world. However, I will say he came & I never realized how much I could instantly love someone.

And the funniest thing was instantly Chad was like "HE HAS YOUR NOSE!". Haha sorry bud, hope you don't have my butt-chin as well! haha

Names are really important to me. I have had such a common name that I knew I couldn't make my child go through life being like a "Lauren F.". So, his name had to be unique (but, not weird). Watson is a family last name on my side. We had another middle name picked out, but felt strongly to go with the middle name "Loren", and Chad was the main force behind it. Loren comes not only from me, but my dad and grandfather who I was named after. It is so special to have two such influential males have the name before Watson & I am sure he will live up to it.

Apparently, there was about 20 babies born at our hospital the same day as Watson! Crazy! We kept hearing the lullaby all the time from our room. (They play the lullaby in the hospital's halls when a baby is born). Our nurses were AMAZING! They do not have an easy job, but they were something else. So amazing at handling everything and knowing their stuff.

Also, we didn't even tell the nurse we love Disney, they just did this!

If you came to the hospital, sent us a text, or anything at all:

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

We got so much love & visitors in the hospital. It was so special to see everyone meet Watson for the first time!

The best was seeing our nephew, Bradley, meet Watson for the first time.

Bradley was born almost exactly a week earlier than Watson (and was almost two weeks over due!). They were definitely conspiring to come down together & will surely be the bestest of buds. We love cousins already!

But, the absolute best thing in the entire world was watching Chadwick become a father.

Everyday we have Watson, I fall more and more in love with my husband. He is the perfect father for him & the most amazing husband to me. I couldn't have picked a better man to have a family & spend eternity with. He never complains and changes A LOT of diapers. Also, he is definitely the master swaddler at our house!!!

I love you, C.

& I love our baby boy! I am so grateful that he chose me to be his mother.

With Mother's Day this last weekend, I reflected about how my own mom (#SassyMommaFetter) has been so influential in my life & how she always knows what to say or do. Even when I got home from the hospital, she came over just to listen to me talk and brought us fruit & cherry candies. She is the best thing that has ever been given to me & I am proud to be HER daughter.

Watson is now a week old! YAY FOR THE TINY HUMAN!

When you mistake your swing for a rollercoaster...

When you mistake your swing for a rollercoaster...

so far, he L-O-V-E-S his swing.

We usually have to wake him up to eat, he is such a sleepy baby. However, when he is awake, he is SO alert and calm. He just watches the world around him.

& he LOVES to be talked to!

Goldie came home on Wednesday (she has been staying at my parents house while we were in the hospital and re-adjusting with a newborn). It has been a re-adjustment with her back home, but we wouldn't have it any other way. She has been curious with Watson, but keeps a respected distance.

It has been interesting to see how she has changed so much having him here. Her personality has calmed down a lot and gotten a lot more obedient. However, if she sees us giving Watson attention she requires some as well!

The shot below is a completely raw shot with my house cluttered from things collecting and not being put away due to having a newborn. But, it is real & real life at the moment.

Also, Chad keeps telling Watson that Goldie is his "sidekick" & it melts my heart every time.

So, happy one week Wats! We love having you here!
